BINGE today released the official trailer for its blockbuster new original reality series Apocalypse, revealing the 14 ordinary Australians and Brits set to face the ultimate survival experiment. Narrated by reality television legend Jonathan LaPaglia (Australian Survivor; Top Gear Australia), the gripping eight-part series premieres with a double episode on BINGE, DAZN’s entertainment streaming platform, Wednesday 16 September, followed by new episodes dropping weekly.

A co-commission between BINGE and the UK’s Channel 4, the series throws strangers from Australia and the UK into the ruins of an abandoned city the size of Sydney’s CBD with no power, running water, food or rules. Cut off from the outside world and stripped of the comforts of modern life, their mission is simple: survive for 28 days.

From a true-blue Aussie cattle farmer and a former Australian Paralympian to a UK paramedic and content creator, the survivors are everyday people from all walks of life, each bringing different skills, personalities and life experiences to this one-of-a-kind survival experiment. They must adapt to an unforgiving new world where resources are scarce, actions have consequences and survival depends on the people around them.

More than a test of physical endurance, Apocalypse explores how human behaviour can make or break a community under extreme pressure. As relationships form and group dynamics are pushed to breaking point, the series asks viewers the ultimate question: Could you survive the end of the world?

Daniel Monaghan, Executive Director – Entertainment, Foxtel Group said: “Apocalypse reflects BINGE and DAZN’s commitment to championing exciting Australian stories on a global scale. The series combines cinematic scale and spectacle with an unfiltered exploration of human behaviour, putting ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances and challenging viewers to consider how they’d survive an apocalyptic event. We can’t wait for Australia to tune in as the fight for survival unfolds.”

Beth Hart, Chief Content Officer, ITV Studios Australia said: “Apocalypse is a ground-breaking series, both in its ambitious international co-production model and in the extraordinary stories it has delivered. The jaw-dropping location allowed the participants to fully immerse in the ‘end of the world’. They quickly had to work out if they could cope when everything we take for granted disappears. It also taps into the armchair survivalist in all of us – you can’t watch without asking yourself, ‘What would I do? Would I actually survive?’”
