Fox Footy 99

Fox Footy has brought together the who’s who of AFL - from Fox Footy legends, to current stars of the game and the biggest names in footy content creation – in a new show targeted at families and young fans.

Footy Shorts, which will premiere tomorrow, August 7, will mix player interviews, challenges, highlights and creator-made content into a half hour hit of pure footy energy. The show will be produced by comedy writers and directors Luke Goodall and Max Price, alongside creative director and producer Will Storr.

Each episode will feature some of the biggest names and personalities in the AFL and AFLW, with regular appearances from Fox Footy’s Eddie Betts, Brad Johnson and Ruby Schleicher, as well as popular content creators Marmalade, Baseline Footy, Caden MacDonald, Shepmates, Cooper Hamilton and Jarra Davis. Each episode will also feature current stars of the game, with Patrick Dangerfield, Jeremy Cameron, Sam Lalor and Nick and Josh Daicos set to appear in early episodes, alongside segments with all 18 AFLW captains.

Fox Footy General Manager, Michael Neill, said: “Footy Shorts is an exciting new chapter for Fox Footy, giving us the opportunity to connect with the next generation of fans in a way we never have before.“ This show is designed for a social-first audience, delivering the energy, creativity and bite-sized content that younger viewers love, while bringing the scale and credibility of Fox Footy to a whole new space. We’re thrilled to be leading the way in making footy more accessible, fun and engaging for Aussie kids and families.”

A new episode will be released every Thursday in the after school 4.30pm timeslot. It will run for 16 weeks until mid-November, with episodes available on Kayo Sports’ YouTube channel, as well as on Kayo Sports and Foxtel. Segments are also designed for social-first consumption, optimised for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
