Fox League today officially kicked off its 2024 NRL season at Resorts World Las Vegas, on the eve of the historic NRL Round 1 at Allegiant Stadium on March 3.
The launch was hosted by Fox League commentator, Braith Anasta, alongside Matty Johns, Bryan Fletcher, Mick Ennis, and Lara Pitt and featured NRL stars Latrell Mitchell, James Tedesco, Pat Carrigan, and Tom Trbojevic to preview the season ahead, and this weekend’s double-header.
Talking from the launch event:
Foxtel Group CEO, Patrick Delany, said "What an incredible setting to kick off the 2024 season, here at our Fox League set, outside Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip.
“The Foxtel Group is the long-term partner of the NRL, and as the home of rugby league, we knew we needed to be here on ground to mark this historic moment in our game’s history.
“We can’t wait to serve up all the NRL action this season, beginning with this Saturday's blockbuster double-header, and continuing across the season, with live coverage of every game of every round, with no ad breaks during live play, powered by the best commentary team in the business.”
Peter V'landys AM, Chairman of the Australian Rugby League Commission, said, "The energy and excitement surrounding the NRL season opener in Las Vegas has exceeded expectations.
“The promotion and coverage by Fox League has been instrumental in significantly raising the profile of the event both in Australia and the US and creating an excitement which is unprecedented for the opening of the season.
“We are also aware of the extraordinary and groundbreaking coverage Fox League will provide. We are eternally grateful to Patrick Delany and the Fox League team for being such brilliant and loyal partners to our game.”
As anticipation builds for the NRL double-header, the league's first-ever season opener played for premiership points outside of Australia or New Zealand; Fox League continues to lead the charge with live shows and unprecedented coverage throughout the week.
NRL 360 and the Matty Johns Show will be live on the ground bringing all the action direct from Vegas (Thursday to Sunday). Then on Sunday 3 March, Fox League will be broadcasting live from midday AEDT, for the double-header, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
