New agreement accelerates Foxtel’s streaming aggregation strategy bringing AmazonPrime Video to set top boxes of more than 2 million Australians.
The Foxtel Group and Amazon Prime Video today announced a significant agreement to integrate the Prime Video app into Foxtel set-tops by the end of 2021, accelerating its streaming aggregation strategy to bring together the best of TV, live and on-demand, all in one place.
The new partnership will enable all Foxtel customers with a Prime membership and on iQ3, iQ4 set top boxes, or Foxtel’s soon to launch iQ5, to access the vast collection of movies and TV shows available on Prime Video, all via the touch of a button on their remote control.
This includes acclaimed Australian Amazon Original series such as Luxe Listings Sydney, Making Their Mark and The Test: A New Era for Australia’s Team and the upcoming Back to the Rafters, as well as other Amazon Original hit movies includingThe Tomorrow War starring Chris Pratt, Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse with Michael B Jordan and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
The deal will see the Amazon Prime Video app added to Foxtel’s vast content offering of more than 16,000 hours of movies and TV shows, along with access to other popular streaming apps, including Netflix, ABC iview, SBS on Demand and YouTube.

This launch will also allow more of our customers to access the Prime Video Store and rent or buy their favourite new release and classic movies via the Foxtel set-tops.”
Together with other agreements completed by the Foxtel Group in the past 18 months, the integration of the Amazon Prime Video app will add to the extensive content offering already available to Foxtel subscribers, including drama, movies, lifestyle and documentaries from Warner Bros., HBO, HBO Max, Sony, NBCU and the BBC, as well as Foxtel Originals and the best in Australian and international sport.
The Amazon Prime Video app will be available to Foxtel subscribers by the end of 2021.
