More than 150 ministers, parliamentarians and stars from Australian screen and sport gathered with senior sports and studio executives at the Foxtel Group 2026 Parliamentary Showcase, where the company reaffirmed its multi-billion-dollar commitment to Australian sport and original drama.
Hosted by Fox Sports presenter Jessica Yates, the event featured remarks from Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany, the Hon. Anika Wells, Minister for Communications & Sport and Ms Melissa McIntosh, Shadow Minister for Communications.
Highlighting Foxtel Group’s contribution to the Australian sporting eco-system, Mr Delany said: “We invest more than $1 billion every year in broadcast rights and production. And what we are most proud of are our partnerships – partnerships that help grow the fandom that fuels participation. Partnerships that sustain the financial health of leagues and clubs.
“Our investment flows through the system – back into rugby league, Australian football, netball, cricket, supercars – to support athletes, pathways, grassroots clubs, facilities, and participation.”
Commenting on Foxtel Group’s investment in Australian drama, Mr Delany continued: “Our commitment to investing in brilliant local drama and Australian story-telling is also unwavering. We are proud of the Australian dramas that make us laugh, cry and want more.”
Mr Delany also reinforced Foxtel Group’s commitment to serving Australia despite a change in ownership in 2025: “We remain an Australian operated company with Australian headquarters, an Australian management team, employing more than 1000 Australians, with an additional 5000 working alongside us, creating content for Australians.
“And now through the global reach of our new owners DAZN – we can help to take Australian sports to new global audiences as well as more than 10 million Australians.”
