Tim Tszyu’s return to big time boxing is complete with confirmation “The Phoenix” will square off with future hall-of-fame fighter Errol Spence on Sunday, 26 July in Australia.
Main Event via Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel will give fans around the country a ringside seat to this blockbuster event with live and exclusive coverage of the entire card.
Today’s announcement caps a monumental return to the top of world boxing for Australia’s highest profile fighter, Tim Tszyu.
The 31-year-old has won his past two fights, most recently a unanimous points decision over the previously undefeated Denis Nurja on Easter Sunday.
“I’ve never stopped believing in myself and I’m delighted to have the chance to take on another world class fighter like Errol Spence,” Tszyu said.
“Spence has fought the best of the best but like I’ve said throughout my career, these are the fights that I want.
“I’m locked into my preparation and on July 26 the world is going to see just what I am capable of.”
Speaking from Las Vegas, Errol Spence declared he is excited about the prospect of fighting Tim Tszyu.
“Tszyu is an accomplished fighter, but he has never been in the ring with someone like me.”
“It doesn’t matter if we fight in the US, Australia or Mars…I’ll take care of my business. I’m coming into his hometown. Coming into his territory. And I’m coming to take over.”
No Limit Boxing CEO George Rose declared this will the biggest boxing event of the year on Main Event and promised the card will feature more big-name Australian fighters.
“We’ve been working on this fight for a long-time and I’m delighted we can finally get it on,” Rose said.
“Tim has proven he is back to his best, and Spence is a fighter that needs no introduction at all.

An announcement on venue and start time will be made in the coming weeks.
