Kayo Sports, in collaboration with Vello Technologies, is giving AFL fans the chance to feature alongside Fox Footy expert Jason Dunstall through the use of an augmented reality app.
The interactive experience is part of The Kayo Call Up - a competition to unearth the next on-air star as part of a paid role and mentorship for at least the first eight rounds of the 2025 AFL home and away season.
To use the technology, fans simply need to download the free Vello AR app where they can record themselves commentating alongside the Hawthorn legend. Link to app HERE.
The video can be downloaded and shared on social media. It can also be used to enter the Kayo Call Up competition with entries sent to close on Wednesday, December 11. A winner will be announced in February 2025.
Fox Footy expert and CEO of Vello Technologies Ben Dixon said: “We’re so excited about this new technology, where we can bring your hero into your home. Being one of the few companies globally offering this to fans, it's a game-changer for how people can interact with their sporting icons. This partnership to support The Kayo Call Up and Fox Footy allows fans to be a part of the action like never before.”
The Kayo Call-Up competition (thekayocallup.kayosports.com.au) will give fans the opportunity to step into the shoes of a Fox Footy commentator, host or expert as part of the Super Saturday Live team in 2025.
The winner will be the latest signing for Fox Footy, following a raft of recent announcements which included Leigh Matthews, Tom Hawkins, Shaun Burgoyne, and Adam Simpson joining the commentary team.
During the 2025 AFL season, Fox Footy commentary and production will be available on all games for the first time along with no ad-breaks during play and every match will also be made available in 4K on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
