Kayo SPORTS’ fan favourite and rugby league legend Matty Johns will bring Aussie fans along for the biggest UFC fight week ever seen, as he travels to Washington DC for UFC Freedom 250, set to take place on Monday, June 15 AEST.

The event marks the UFC’s first ever card staged on the grounds of The White House, creating one of the most iconic backdrops in sports history. The main event is headlined by Ilia Topuria taking on Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title bout, while the co-main event features Alex Pereira against Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight interim title bout.

The only place to watch the full card is Main Event via pay-per-view, available on Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel. Coverage will start from 10am AEST on Monday, June 15.

Johns, one of Australia’s most respected and beloved sporting personalities, will travel to the US capital on Monday, June 8 for a week full of events and festivities.

The Sunday Night with Matty Johns Show host will sit down for one-on-one interviews with event headliner and reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Topuria, and UFC President and CEO, Dana White. He will also record two 30-minute specials with two-time Australian Featherweight Champion, Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski to air on Kayo SPORTS on Saturday, 13 and Sunday, 14 June.

"It will be a surreal experience, who would have thought that there'd be a major sporting event on the lawn of The White House,” Johns said of the trip.

“UFC boss Dana White has described it as the biggest, most unique sporting event in history. I'm not sure about biggest, but without doubt, the most unique.

“To be there will be a pretty incredible experience. The event is one thing, the history of the location, a whole 'nother level. I'm very much looking forward to it."

Johns will rub shoulders with an unprecedented mix of political leaders, celebrities, athletes, military figures and entertainment personalities in DC for the fight, with a daily diary across Kayo SPORTS’ social media pages taking Aussies back home as close to the action as possible.

Fox Sports Managing Director, Steve Crawley, said: "UFC Freedom 250…what a stage. The event, the location, the calibre of people who will come together Octagon-side and can you believe it on The White House lawn.

"The world will be watching and Kayo SPORTS will make sure every Australian fan has a front row seat to a week that is sure to be unpredictable, electric and like nothing we've ever seen. The truth is we’re not really sure what could happen with Matty Johns and Donald Trump at the same event. They both command plenty of attention.”
