BINGE today released the official trailer for new four-part football drama series DEAR ENGLAND, with a double episode premiere on May 28th on BINGE and Foxtel On Demand.

Based on James Graham’s Olivier-award winning play of the same name about Gareth Southgate and the England men’s football team, the series provides a fictionalised account of the team’s struggles and successes, based on extensive research and interviews.

Streaming on BINGE just ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, the series stars Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale, Shakespeare in Love) who will reprise his Olivier award nominated role as Gareth Southgate, alongside Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who, Toxic Town) as England men’s team psychologist Pippa Grange and Will Antenbring (Mr Loverman) as Harry Kane.

The ensemble cast also includes Jason Watkins (The Game, The Crown) as former FA chairman Greg Dyke and John Hodgkinson (Small Axe, Life After Life) who will reprise his stage role as former FA chairman Greg Clarke; Daniel Ryan (The Bay, The Hack) who plays Steve Holland, former assistant manager for the England men’s team; and Sam Spruell (The Gold, Fargo) who stars as fictional coach, Mike Webster.

Forming the England team are Adam Hugill (Sherwood), Josh Barrow (Hostage) and screen newcomer Lewis Shepherd who reprise their respective stage roles as Harry Maguire, Jordan Pickford and Dele Alli. Rounding out the squad are Edem-Ita Duke (Mr Loverman) as Marcus Rashford; Francis Lovehall (A Thousand Blows) as Raheem Sterling; Abdul Sessay (Piglets) as Bukayo Saka; Jacob Greenway (The Dream Lands) as Jude Bellingham; David Shields (Masters of the Air) as Jordan Henderson; Hamish Frew (Generation Z) as Eric Dier; Alfie Middlemiss (Waterloo Road) as Phil Foden; Riess Fennell (The Football Fantastics) as Jadon Sancho; Daniel Quincy Annoh (The Recruit) as Ollie Watkins; Bobby Schofield (Unforgivable) as Wayne Rooney; and newcomers Dom Rayner and Xander Westcarr-Parsons as Cole Palmer and Jesse Lingard respectively.

The series was written by James Graham. Rupert Goold (Judy, King Charles III, The Hollow Crown), who directed the stage production of Dear England returns to direct episode one of the series, with Paul Whittington (This Town, The Crown, White House Farm) directing episodes two to four. The series is produced by Tina Pawlik (Ted Lasso, Top Boy) and the executive producers are James Graham and Rupert Goold; Andy Harries and Rebecca Hodgson for Left Bank Pictures (This City is Ours, The Crown); and Jo McClellan for the BBC.
