Foxtel Group today released the official promo for the new season of The Great Australian Bake Off, offering fans an enticing preview of the extraordinary and unexpected baking creations to come. The eagerly awaited 10-part series will premiere on FOXTEL and BINGE on Wednesday 18 September at 8.30pm AEST, with episodes served up weekly at the same time on both platforms.
The series is a FOXTEL Original produced by BBC Studios Productions Australia based on the format by Love Productions and distributed by BBC Studios Distribution.
This season, 12 new bakers will be donning their aprons and taking their place in the iconic Bake Off shed under the attentive and encouraging eyes of esteemed judges, global culinary icon Rachel Khoo and Australia’s king of pastry Darren Purchese. Hosting the show are comedians Natalie Tran and the late, dearly missed Cal Wilson, who appears in four episodes.

Over 10 weeks, diverse home baking enthusiasts from around Australia will go through a series of mouth-watering challenges which will test their skills and creativity as they tackle delicious desserts, cakes, biscuits, breads, and pastries, in a bid to become Australia’s best baker.
This season’s bakers are a vibrant and diverse group, from Adrian Barila, a 28-year-old theatre performer who weaves his Italian heritage into his creations, to Jaden Briggs, a proud Gunai Kurnai and Yorta Yorta man mastering bush tucker with native ingredients, and Laurina Bowlen, a 36-year-old 50s dress designer renowned for her jaw-dropping sculptured fondant cakes. Fans will be delighted by bakers from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, spanning diverse occupations like bartending, singing, and nursing, all bringing their unique flavours and unforgettable moments to the show.

The Bake Off franchise began in 2010 with The Great British Bake Off, where it became a ratings phenomenon. The format has been produced locally in the US, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, Ireland, Kenya, Norway, Finland, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, Algeria and France, as well as previously in Australia for the Nine Network in 2013.
This series retains the wonderfully warm spirit of camaraderie, savvy take-home baking tips and heartfelt humour of its series 1 - 6 predecessors.
